Make it Crafty release party!

HOORAY! My internet and is connected and my link with humanity is restored! Just in time to welcome you to the very special Make it Crafty Tea Party!

Today, I'm joining the fun with a collection of Make it Crafty fans from around the world, serving you a delicious array of crafty delights to celebrate not only the magical release of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ but also Make it Crafty’s THIRD Birthday!! Congratulations Zoe

What better way to celebrate than a tea party full of Make it Crafty fans? As you chase the white rabbit down holes, through small doors, around corners and more, keep your eye out for hidden letters, collecting them along the way. Simply decipher the ‘question’ and then enter the answer at the end of the hop for a chance to win the grand prize! It wouldn't be a fun tea party without hidden prizes along the way, so make sure you comment as you chase the rabbit for a chance to win more prizes!

Hopefully you've found your way through the door from Kimberly's blog, but if you have just fallen down the hole then you might want to start back at Zoe's blog

The guests were given the option to play with 6 images from the new collection and I chose the Red Queen, and you can find her here. For this project I made a twisted easel card using Deconstructed Sketch 110, with a pull out tag to write your message on. Why I decided to do something more difficult when I had a tight timeline I don't know - maybe I just like to torture myself?! The same can be said for my decision to fussy-cut such an intricate image. I will definitely not be doing that again! I think it was worth it though. What do you think?

I decided to try a new red combo (R22/29/46/59), but my R22 ran out half way through. Why does that always happen on an important project when you don't have time to go and buy a refill?! So, it ended up with some R20 and R24 thrown into the mix. I think I lost some of the contrast, so I will definitely have to tackle this combo again. I added some clear spica to the gold accents for a bit of sparkle. Here is a close up of the colouring:

I was a bit ambitious and selected a second image to work with - the white rabbit. I merged this with 'magical mushrooms' from the 'Whimsical World' release. You can find them both in the store here. This is the first time I have coloured an image with a full background scene. It is certainly a lot of work, but I am pleased with the results. I kept the card really simple to showcase the colour work.

The fun doesn't stop here and if you head through this door you’ll find your way to Michelle's blog. Have fun!
